Tinies History
Tinies Childcare was acquired by brothers Ben and Oliver Black in March 2000. In August of that year they were joined by Amanda Coxen and since then they have grown the company into the largest supplier of childcarers across the UK. The company was established to professionalise the traditional and fragmented world of childcare agencies.
When it started out in 1975 Tinies was a nanny agency with 5 branches around the country. Today Tinies is a childcare recruitment company with 25 childcare & nanny agencies in the UK and 4 overseas branches. Tinies specialises in the recruitment of nannies and nursery staff, but that's not all we do. We manage a chain of 25 fixed creches & junior/kids club programmes on behalf of fitness chains and corporate companies. We run the overseas recruitment schemes for the leading UK holiday company Thomson Holidays. We also manage the holiday playschemes for over 32 government departments.
Our business is growing. We pay our hard working staff as much as we can afford rather than as little as we can get away with. We invest, train and develop our people.

Biographies
Ben Black was a corporate lawyer at Ashurst. He helped float and then joined The Club Company as MD of its European leisure business and was convinced to enter the world of childcare by his brother Oliver, in 2000. Ben is the founder and chief executive of My Family Care, the UK's leading provider of family friendly employee benefits. He is a regular speaker on childcare issues and is kept busy on a daily basis by a French wife, twins Oscar and Clara and an occasional game of bad tennis.
Oliver Black began his career at Procter & Gamble as a brand manager. Whilst working he saw the positive impact that having good childcare made to the people working in the business, but also how difficult it was for parents to arrange good, local childcare in the UK vs. the US. Convinced that childcare in the UK was about to go through massive change he, along with his brother Ben & friend Amanda, built up Tinies Childcare, now the UK's largest provider of childcarers and creches.
Amanda Coxen worked for 7 years in the City as a qualified solicitor. She saw many colleagues struggling with childcare and work and decided that she wanted to do something about that. As a mother of 2 boys, Amanda also knows what difficulties parents face when trying to find the right childcare solution and how important it is to get the best advice. As the director in charge of the network of Tinies franchises, Amanda sees it as her mission to ensure that clients and candidates get the best service from her branches.
